Thursday July 30th through Sunday August 2nd 2009

The Irish Football Youth League of San Francisco (IFYL) and North American County Board (NACB) is proud to announce it will play host to the 2009 Continental Youth Championships from July 30th through August 2nd at the new playing fields on Treasure Island, San Francisco Bay. The tournament style Championships will bring 1,500 elite players from across the nation, plus teams from Canada and England to the Bay Area area to compete in Gaelic Games. CYC 2008

The Continental Youth Championship (CYC) is an annual weekend tournament of Gaelic Football and Hurling organized by the Gaelic Athletic Association. It is contested by teams from the USA, Canada and England. It began in 2004, and its location rotates around various cities from year to year. The age of players ranges from Under 8 to Under 18.

“What an experience!  We were very lucky to be part of such a great event.”

The Philadelphia Divisional Youth Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) and North American County Board (NACB) will play host to this years CYC on July 24-27th in Philadelphia. The tournament style Championships will bring 1,500 elite players from across the nation and we hope to have Canada well represented with players from Durham!

Greater Chester Valley Soccer Associations’ Line Road Complex in Willistown, Chester County, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia.

Youth Development Committee / Fall - Winter Program

Hi Everyone,

Hope you are all enjoying the summer! As you are aware the Gaelic Football for Kids program in Durham has been expanding over the years. A big part of our success is due to the efforts of our volunteers and to continue on this we are now looking for people to join a dedicated Youth Development Committee. This committee will be focused on the growth and development of boys and girls through Gaelic Football in the Durham region. We want to increase the awareness and participation of kids playing Gaelic football.. We need your help!

This committee will deal with the specifics involved in running the kids program and all your ideas, opinions and feedback are really invaluable to us.  If you feel you would like to help out and join this committee please let me know by phone 905 493 1449 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Also some very exciting news! For the first time we will now have a Fall/Winter session. It will run on Tuesday nights 7.30pm - 8.30pm for 28 weeks beginning September 30th until April 28th. As always it will be divided into three age groups (5-7) (8-11) (12-16). Each week will we have two age groups playing only so one age group will not be playing. Attached is the schedule with the dates each group will be playing.
