End of our 2008 Fall/Winter indoor season

Wow this evening saw the end of our 2008 Fall/Winter indoor season. As we gear up for the upcoming spring outdoor session let me recall some of our spectacular moments.

We started in the fall with an excited, eager group of kids and their spirit and determination was simply awesome. As the weekly practices continued it was clear that the Durham Shamrocks were coming together as a team. The U8 team were focused very hard on learning the rules and putting them together as was our U10 group team. I must say what Joy it is to watch these group of kids work very hard to master Gaelic Football. Our U14 and U16 Teams are really working together and have come together to play and succeed as a team.
Our last tournament in Brampton was truly a day filled with fast paced games and our Durham Shamrocks did us proud. We were triumphant in our first two matches and came very close in the third and final match. All the kids were simply BRILLIANT!

As a club we have just finished a fundraising campaign that brought us to a Fun-Filled Friday night at the races! Oh what a night! The horses were running the drinks flowing and the benefits to our kids amazing. Our Coaches, Trainers and parents did our kids proud. We came together as our own team and together we succeeded! GO SHAMROCKS!

Onwards and Upwards we are currently gearing up for our Durham Tournament scheduled for May 9th at Notre Dame Catholic High School. Please if you have not already let the coaches know that you will be there do so as soon as possible.  We have another day of great things in store for the kids. Plenty of Gaelic as well as a BBQ and also a sweet table and chocolate/candy table. This is a day for the Durham kids to host teams from Toronto and Brampton and show them our spirit and sportsmanship.

It has been an honor to be a parent and observe what a truly classy group of people we have here with the DURHAM SHAMROCKS!

I look forward to seeing you all at the upcoming tournament!!!!! GO TEAM!
