Cutoff date for the rates will be June 20th. The room rates are $145 USD per night.

All parents must be booked into our hotel by Wednesday, July 28th. All kids participating in tournament will be receiving wrist bands that identify their respective age groups. All children must appear in person and will be verified by a CYC official with their CYC photo ID card. This ID will be completed prior to the trip.

All prices are based on a family of 4 staying in one room for 5 nights at our designated hotel.

Hotel Cost
5 nights = $145 x 5 nights = $725 USD

Cost per person = $181.25 (based on 4 sharing)

Travel Options will be based on July 28th to August 2nd:

  1. Driving down to Long Island will take 9 to 11 hours depending on traffic.
  2. Booking a coach to Long Island will cost $5055.43 (taxes and hotel for driver included). Cost per person will be $90.30 (based on a full bus of 56 passengers).
  3. MegaBus to New York is $82.50 return. 4 departure times daily beginning at 8am.
  4. Flying to NYC
    a. Toronto – JFK $260   www.flightcentre.ca  28th July – 2 Aug
    b. Buffalo – LGA $208   www.flightcentre.ca  28th July – 2 Aug

The best option is either driving down or booking a coach. The issue with the other options is you will have to arrange your own transportation to Long Island. We have been guaranteed $250 from the Canadian County Board for all participating kids. Whatever travel option parents make, all individuals will receive the same amount of funding.

Based on a Family of Four (2 players playing):

Option #2
Coach ($90.30) + hotel ($181.25) = $271.55 per person.
Subtract $250 from total cost per player ($271.55) = $21.55 per player.

($271.55 x 2) + ($21.55 x 2) = $586.20 divided by 4

TOTAL COST PER PERSON = $146.55
WITH NO EXTRA FUNDRAISING
(based on a family of 4, 2 adults, 2 children playing, staying in one room for 5 nights at designated hotel)

$100 Deposit per person required by June 6th.

For hotel reservations please call (516) 694 6500 and quote the Group Continental Youth Championship to book your room for the dates you will be there. When you have booked your dates with the hotel please let us know.

From Pat Guerin of the NY Minor Board

It is with great excitement and anticipation the New York Minor Board is announcing that it will be hosting the 2010 Continental Youth Championships from July 29th through August 1st at Eisenhower Park. As many of you know, this tournament style Championship will bring over 1,500 elite players from across the nation, plus teams from Canada, Ireland, and England to the Long Island area to compete in Gaelic Games.  It is expected to be the largest gathering for this event since its inception with over 250 matches expected to be played over the 4 day period.

Unlike the past the Games are scheduled to be over 4 days with a Parade on the 29th, in the town of Rockville Center commencing at 7:00P.M., with all of the participants taking part. Also, the Mineola Irish Center will hold their Annual Irish Night Concert on the Sunday at the conclusion of our games at the Harry Chapman Lakeside Theater in Eisenhower Park. This is just one of the many activities that will be surrounding our NY CYC Games.

Note: We will have games scheduled beginning on Thursday 29th so we will need to be in New York for Wednesday.
